Prayer requests

Prayer requests-
1. My sister has gestational diabetes an is having a difficult time. She had this with her second pregnancy but it was not as bad as it is this time. Please pray that she will figure out exactly what to do and it will not stress her out. Baby Lily will be here in July!!
2. My other sister is still having a difficult recovery from her knee surgery.Things are just not back to where they should be for such a simple procedure and they just can't figure out what to do with her. Story of her life ;)
3. My Mom and Aunt are on a plane flying to Boston to visit my cousin that is there now studying. Pray for traveling mercies for them.
4. My Dad and step-mom have some things they are dealing with now that can be very stressful. Also pray for my Dad's health. As well as my step-mom's parents health.
5. My poor hubby. He is working himself to the bone. We have been blessed that there is still work out there but he is literally about to run himself to death. He needs strength and rest and a VERY patient wife.
6. A#1 will be home this time next week. Pray that he will make it thru the rest of his finals. Also in less than 2 weeks he will begin his flying. He will have to drive back and forth 1 1/2 hours each way and then he will be at the airport for 5 hours and then drive home. Please pray for his safety thru it all. He is soooooo excited and so ready to get started.
7. Hubby and I are supposed to be taking a trip for our anniversary (yes I know you are sick of hearing about the anniversary!!) but this stupid SWINE FLU has just messed things up. That and the fact that we put everything else before our marriage.
8. Swine Flu? What the heck?!!! Pray that this will cease.
9. Our church family. We have a lot going on right now with remodels etc. God is moving and some people just don't like it (mainly Satan, the big nerd) I had a fantastic meeting with some of our ladies the other night and I was really touched at some of the things we were able to work out.

10. Faith Promise Mission Conference- We have missionaries coming from all over in the next couple of weeks and it is always such a blessing to see our God working.
11. Liberty University just lost one of it's professors in a tragic accident. Please pray for that family as well as the students and faculty.

The flowers have bloomed

The flowers are blooming here at the Blaine household. Not the one's outside, but these. They are the pins I have been making to offer you. They are for sale for $8 or $10 for the Hokie colors. As you can see there are lots of different colors to pick from. If you don't see a combo that you like, I can probably make it for you. Take a close look and let me know which one is for you.

You can see the VT/Hokie one below. These would make great Mothers Day gifts. Or for all of you mommies that are expecting, the baby pink and baby blue one is perfect for you in honor of your little one.

Here I am wearing one on Easter Sunday that matched my dress. I love it!! Just leave me a message and let me know which one you would like and I'll get them right out to you.

Worth the wait

Aren't they gorgeous?!!! These are what hubby sent me on our anniversary. My favorite flowers, tulips. Twenty of them for twenty years of marriage. Plus 4 red roses, one for every five years. What a sweetie!! They are still beautiful.
We had reservations for dinner to Bookbinders Grill. We had not been able to eat here before so we both were very excited. IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!! We ordered an appetizer to start off, stuffed mushrooms. Yummo! Next came the wonderful wedge salads and then dinner. Hubby had stuffed flounder and I had Wasabi crusted salmon. Oh. My. Goodness!!! You would think we would've stopped there but noooooo. Then we had dessert. We didn't split one either. We EACH ordered dessert! We NEVER do that!! He had Apple Pie A La Mode and I had Cheesecake. Hello I felt like I had gained back 50 pounds after that meal was over.

A La Mode!!!!

My fave, cheesecake. Oh my gosh was it good!!
After dinner we took a drive. We ended up going on a job site, I know very romantic, that hubby will be working on. It is a 3 MILLION dollar home in our area. It was something else. Get this, hubby will be installing the floors in the attic. That's right they are installing flooring in the attic. I guess if you have a house worth that, you want the attic to look nice as well. I wouldn't know. Well it got even more romantic as the night went on. Can you detect that sarcasm? I had to use the bathroom sooooo bad while we were on this job site but there are no working bathrooms yet. It is a construction site so, yep porta potties!!! I detest porta potties. However, we were on top of a mountain, hubby checked it out first, it was fairly clean and it had t.p., so I went!! Hubby turned his back and held the door open for me. Having the door open helped with just the thought of going in there for some reason. On our way home he said gosh honey how romantic. How many wives have had to use a porta potty on their 20th anniversary. Not many!! But I responded back. It's ok cause not many hubbies would hold the door open for their wife so she could use the porta potty. We laughed all the way home!! 20 years was well worth the wait as far as I'm concerned.

20 Unbelievable years!!!

20 years ago today my life changed for the better. I married this man and I can say I have never once regretted it. He is the man God made for me. The man that is the best Daddy in the world. The best provider and protector. The best friend. A man that has turned his life over to the Lord. And, the man God made for ME!! I know I already said that but I repeated it because I truly believe it. Happy anniversary W.B. I have loved you more than you could ever know. I can't wait to see what the next 20 has in store for us.

Blessings

God's blessings are just amazing!! We had such an awesome weekend together as a family and I want to thank Him in every way. A#1 was able to come home for the weekend and I have to ask you something. Can you believe he only has less than 4 weeks and he will be finished with his first year of college? Where did it go? I am seriously in shock by this. He has had such a great year, with a few lessons learned in the game of life, and has an extremely busy summer ahead of him. He has just thrived at LU and it shows. We went into his room Saturday night to tell him goodnight and he was laying in his bed reading his Bible. No t.v., no i-pod just his Bible. I know he has his quiet time with the Lord every day but to witness it was just awesome. He is reading the book of Romans. Yesterday we had a great talk with my mom and s-dad about scripture and there was so much that I could not answer. If I asked A#1, he could answer!! I just can't wait to witness what the Lord has for him.

We awoke Sunday morning at 5:30 to go to sunrise service and to our amazement there were 3 buckets left on our table with enough sugar to hype up an entire army of kids. The kids all had a movie and a few other things to occupy themselves with. Oh yeah and Silly String. They always get Silly String in their baskets. 5 minutes of messy fun in a can is what we call it.
That sneaky little bunny left a trail of candy leading up to the goodies.

And then they dig in. This was after sunrise service. We came home to get re-dressed for church and they had to check out every single thing. As you can see, A#1 is still a kid :)

Me and my kiddos leaving for church.

Me and my girls!

After church we went to my Mom's for lunch. The girls took their bike's and we all sat out front watching. My Mom just had a few places taken off of her face that ended up being cancer. Me and my sister have been telling her she needed to get them looked at and thank goodness she did. So I told her she was going to have to give up her small cute sunglasses and invest in some big fabulous one's. She did but she wasn't sure if she liked them or not. She handed them to me and said here try them on so I can see what I look like in them (they say we look a little bit a- like!). When I did, she took a picture of me and W.B. Turns out she likes how "she" looks in the new glasses :)

A#1 keeping a close eye on his sisters riding their bikes.

When she wasn't riding, she was climbing. A#3 has figured out that she can climb Mom's magnolia tree with no help. She climbed ALL DAY!!!

She took the basket with eggs up the tree with her. Monkey!!!

A#2 on her bike. She LOVES being outside!!

Nena and Poppy outside in the beautiful weather. Thanks for lunch!!! It was delicious and we had a wonderful day!!!!
Easter is over but let's all remember, HE LIVES!!!!!!

Yumminess for Easter

I have been meaning to post this for awhile now and since I will be making it for Easter I thought I would share. A#1 loves chocolate, cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies so when I found this recipe I knew it was perfect for his birthday. I was right!! He LOVED it. We made it again when he was home for spring break and it has been requested for Easter. Let me just warn you now, you can NOT eat just one piece but you will be a hero in your house. I will put the recipe at the bottom of this post but here are a few pictures me and A#3 took the last time we made it.

The crust, chocolate chip cookie.
Throw in a little melted chocolate to the rest of the yumminess.

Find a helper. This one's the best!

Mix, mix and mix some more.

Throw in a few more chocolate chips just because you can.

Poor in your pan.

Decorate with some more melted chocolate and a few more choc chips.

Cover and chill and try your best to keep every one's hands off. Maybe it will be easier in your house than is is in mine but I doubt it. Enjoy!!!!!!

*The recipe
ingredients-
-1 package (16.5 oz.) refrigerated cookie dough
-2 pkgs. ( 8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
-1 cup sugar ( I use SPLENDA)
-2 containers (8 oz. each) frozen whipped topping, thawed
-1 bag semi sweet morsels (choc chips)
directions-
-pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease bottom of 9 inch spring form pan
-slice cookie dough into enough pieces to cover the bottom og pan. Allow to soften for 5 minutes then using your fingers, pat dough gently to cover the entire bottom of pan.
-Bake cookie dough for around 15 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely on wire rack. It MUST be cool.
-Combine cream cheese, splenda/sugar until well blended.
-In a small plastic bag, add 1/2 cup choc chips and put in microwave for about 20 seconds. Check to see if choc is melted by squeezing the bag. If it's not, m/w for additional 10 seconds at a time until melted. I use scissors to cut the corner out of bag and just squeeze almost all of the melted choc into the cream cheese mixture. Combine.
-Add whipped topping and fold in until completely mixed.
-Poor into cookie crust, smooth top.
-Drizzle with the remaining melted choc and sprinkle another hand full of choc chips over the top .
-Cover and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours or over night. Remove sides of pan, DIG IN!!!!!!!!

Let me know if you try it. I pray you and your family have a blessed Easter. I could never say it enough, THANK YOU JESUS!!!

The new addition

We finally got the pleasure of meeting our new nephew, Mason. What a blessing this little guy is. He weighs just over 7 pounds which is small for this family. I couldn't get over how small he is.

As you can see, the girls had to get their hands on him as soon as they could. A#3 just wanted to take him home and play with him.
She was just nuts over him.

A#2 was a little proud too. She held him several times over the weekend. She's at that age where she thinks she can just pick up every baby without checking first. So funny how girls just have that instinct.

You've met this little man before. We don't get to see him as much as we would like so we enjoy every minute we have with him. This is his smile for food. His Mommy had snacks for him and this is his sweet way of convincing her that she should give them to him.

Little Mason again.

We had a fantastic weekend which was busy, busy. We went to our nephew Michael's' art show. He is trying to raise money for a mission trip he is going on to Peru. If you are interested in supporting him please let me know. We went to church, had an Easter egg hunt, ate way too much and just hung out with the family. What blessings the Lord has given us.
