Conversation with A#3

A#3- "Mommy, did you like that movie Pocono?"

Me- " What movie?"

A#3- " You know, Pocono. the one about the boy whose nose grew when he told a lie."

Me- (insert smile here) " Oh yeah I have seen that movie and I liked it. What was his name again?"

A#3- " Mommy, it was POCONO!!"

A#3- " Did you watch it on a DVD when you were little?"

Me- " No they didn't have DVD's when I was a little girl."

A#3- " Oh they musta made those for me and A#2 (she said her real name)."

Me- " I guess they did."

Can anyone relate?

Sometimes on this new journey in my life, this is what my days have felt like. Why is it that no matter how focused you are, sometimes it's just hard?!!

I was right girls... that piece of cake I ate last night at church TORE MY STOMACH UP!!! Was is worth it? I still can't decide cause it sure tasted good but my belly didn't like it!

Thankfully I have moved out of my fat pants but it sure is scary to think that I will fight it for the rest of my life.

This one I should blow up and hang on my fridge.

This one cracks me up!!!!!! Here's to no more BIG knickers!

Been "mistreated"

We started on the house last month and boy has it been a slooow process. I'm not complaining cause everyone knows what a hard worker W.B. is outside of the house so for him to have to come home and work is a lot to ask. He never complains and as a matter of fact, a lot of it is his idea!! For real, especially the floors needing to be fixed/changed. Those curtains below are the before. Before I got a hold of them and had me a little "Nester" moment. W.B raised the rod ( Nester would be proud) and then I found some fabric and got busy. Keep in mind these are the fall/winter heavy velour drapes that I took down in the spring and put up some new "mistreatments".

I love em!! I also love the new paint and the new floors thanks to W.B. That's the rest of the floors stacked there in the picture. So all I did was use some fabric glue and fabric to the bottom of the curtains. That's right I said the bottom. But wait, you say the new fabric is at the top! That's right. I fixed them so I can hang them either way, new addition at the top or the bottom. See the next picture...

That's actually the top of the curtain that the rods go thru. If I feel like amking a change... just flip em and take the ring clips off and put them on the rod. Cool huh?
Now, the old floors below.... GONE!

Welcome the new beauties!! Much better quality, color and especially installation!

Much better!!! Can't wait to show you the rest of what we've been up to. Why oh why do we start these things so close to the holidays? Like we aren't busy enough.

I Am by Addison Blaine

I am Addison
I wonder where Montana is
I hear the teacher
I see 2,000 books
I want 100 dogs
I am Addison

I pretend to be the boss of the house
I feel happy when I am at home
I touch my dog
I worry about my SOL's
I cried when my sister was in the hospital
I am Addison

I understand when I am sad
I say I love you to my sister
I dream I had 1,000 fish
I try my best
I hope we have science today
I am Addison

Great job A#2. I love you and I'm so proud to be your Mommy!!

Thank you!

Veteran's day is very special in our family! We are so proud of everyone that has served our country from our family and pray that you will join us in honoring all of them today. CJ, you deserve a special mention all your own today. I love you and couldn't be more proud of you. Brian and Matt you both have done what your country called you to do and YOU ROCK!! Daddy, Poppaw, Poppy, Mr Foster, Jason and Christopher, Uncle Mark and Pa Dick, you are just a few that I could mention today that I love. God bless you all and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!! Let's all pay it forward today and if you know a veteran, a police officer or a fire fighter ( I love you Mikie Scott and Jeremy), thank them for their service and their sacrifice. It's the least we can do.

A day in the life of ME!

Wednesday November 5, 2008 my day goes like this....
*Up and showered 7am
*Girls up and getting dressed 7:30am start 1st load of laundry
*Downstairs packing book bags and getting snacks together, warming up the truck so there are no grumpy girls on their way to school, throw the 1st load of laundry in the dryer and start the 2nd load
*Out the door at 8:30
*Drop A#2 off at school
*Hit McDonald's for a small decaf because there are no groceries in our house much less coffee
*Drop A#3 off at preschool
* Go by hubbies work to leave him a checkbook which takes forever because he's on a construction site and there's a bunch of gross men there that like to stand in your way as your driving around trying to find him
*Wal-mart by 9:20 to start getting some groceries and other "necessities"
*Home at 10:30 to put away groceries, check email, start ANOTHER load of laundry and fold the ones that are finished
*11:45 leave to go get A#3 from preschool, talk to A#1 about some of his classes and just to tell him his Momma misses him.
*12:10 back home, time to fix lunch for A#3 while she is watching The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown for the 50th time! Lunch, load dishwasher and head up stairs to put A#3 down for rest time which she is insisting she does not need. WRONG!!!
*1:00 With the house being painted and new floors going in, things are a TOTAL wreck around here so I'm trying to clean as things are being moved around. So I have to clean on top of the kitchen cabinets since hubby is painting up there and let me tell you, that's just nasty! I don't care how clean your house is, things just get dirty up there. We have white cabinets so it can be tricky to get all the dust off without making a horrible mess. Clorox Cleanup to the rescue! Did I mention that I am trying to be very quiet while doing this so as not to let A#3 think she is missing out on the fun.
*3:00 Check email again and do a little blog catch up while waiting for A#2 to get home from school
*3:45 A#2 gets off the bus and the homework begins! A#3 is up from her nap and comes downstairs with her AWANA book so she can practice her verses for church tonight. Homework, homework, homework.
*4:20 start dinner. Church tonight so it's chicken nuggets and tater tots.
*4:45 girls are eating dinner while hubby and I are carrying the toilet back inside from the 1/2 bath downstairs because the painting and the floors are done in there. Seriously, the toilet has been outside on the deck for a week now! We are so spoiled that we actually complained about having to go upstairs to potty! Good grief!
*5:30 Hubby is finally getting dressed for church while I am getting hair fixed and teeth brushed and ironing AWANA clothes for the girls.
*6:00 leave for church
*8:40 Home from church, snack for the girls, pj's on, teeth brushed, Daddy does story time and prayers. Girls down for the night.
*9:30 What can I eat because I didn't eat dinner? Low carb ice cream, butter pecan my favorite!
*9:45 Never shoulda ate that ice cream!!!!! My belly hurts now.
*10:00 Watch Parking Wars with hubby and laugh our butts off at the people that won't pay their parking tickets but complain because they can't have their car back that has been "booted".
Seriously people! Pay your tickets and you won't have to worry if your car is going to be auctioned off!!!
*10:30 Good night!

Thursday Nov 6 2008
* 7:30am First load of laundry.... IT STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!

NO matter your choice of candidates... VOTE!!!

We are on our way to tumbling then it's off to vote. I was not crazy about taking the girls to wait in line but I think A#2 will be curious to see the whole thing since they are studying all about our government. I am also excited for A#1 today because it is his first time voting and he is ready to go. Liberty is providing buses to transport the students to their voting location and I think that is AWESOME! They are being taken in a certain order by their dorm hall. He said it's a great thing that they have organized. I agree!!

Be in much prayer for our country today. However things turn out, America needs prayer! God Bless the USA!!
