Going SOLO!!!

This is what A#1 arrived home to see on Tues August 4Th. He did it!!!! He flew his very first SOLO FLIGHT!!!!!!!! When he called to tell me he was on his way home from his instruction, I asked him how it went and what did he work on. "It went GREAT and I worked on my SOLO!!!!!" What? Did you say SOLO??!?! Yes he did!!
When we heard him pull up I peeked out of the window to see the look on his face. I had a feeling he would be all smiles!!

And he was! Smiling from ear to ear was the theme for the rest of the day.

His little sis jumped out and yelled congratulations!! The other little sis was out of town so she missed it but we told her all about it and she was excited.

Tradition has it when you take your first solo that your instructor cuts your shirt tail off and writes a bunch of stuff on it. At L U there is a "wall of fame" where all of the shirt tails are hung. They took a bunch of pictures (we haven't seen them yet) and really encouraged him. As soon as he got home on of the directors of the program called him to offer his congrats. IT WAS AN AWESOME DAY!!!!
When hubby got home we knew we wanted to take him out for a celebration dinner. We were prepared for something a little fancy and the choice was his. This is where he wanted to go.....
yep, Amelia's, a local pizza joint. So that is where we went. That's A#1 though... the more simple the better.
My mom also took him out for lunch this week to celebrate. They even gave him a free dessert in his honor.
I love you A#1 and am soooooooooooooo proud of you. The Lord is moving in your life and it is so exciting to see.
